MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, which is Jesuit, Catholic, and Interfaith, is to provide an excellent college preparatory education by preparing its students for a lifetime of leadership in service to others as men and women who are intellectually competent, open to growth, loving, religious, and committed to promoting justice.  In pursuit of the Mission, Brebeuf Jesuit affirms two essential principles: the education of the whole person and the care of the person.

TITLE OF POSITION: Director of Alumni Relations

PURPOSE:  To cultivate and nurture long-term relationships with Brebeuf Jesuit alumni; To coordinate alumni activities and events, working closely with the school’s Alumni Board of Directors; To assist the school’s fundraising initiatives where appropriate

ACCOUNTABILITY:  This full-time position reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VPIA) and serves as a member of the advancement team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
(Note: The following list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Others may be assigned, subject to reasonable accommodations.)

Plan and execute special events, including
a) the annual alumni awards dinner 
b) the annual autumn golf outing 
c) the annual Easter egg hunt
d) Mass of Remembrance for deceased alumni 
These events often include corporate solicitation for sponsorship.

Plan and implement a class reunion program, including affinity reunions and out-of-town reunions

Assist advancement database management with updates to alumni and donor records

Coordinate electronic and print materials consistent with school’s strategic marketing & communications plan, partnering with Director of Communications and VPIA

Partner with Communications office on the development and maintenance of the alumni website and monthly email messaging

Participate in long-range planning exercises to further the goals of the advancement effort

Coordinate the advancement team’s participation in various projects and events related to the school’s mission

Support ongoing communication with the President’s Office as related to alumni relations activities, especially with the President’s out-of-town travel schedule

Contribute updated information to the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees, as requested by the VPIA

Maintain regular contact with the school’s Alumni Board members and chairman to provide support and direction


CREDENTIALS

• REQUIRED:  A Bachelor’s degree with related experience in alumni relations and/or public relations, fundraising in a not-for-profit environment

• PREFERRED:  Working knowledge of the Jesuit educational model
