Athletic Event Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: Athletic Event Manager

PURPOSE

• Management of day-to-day athletic office tasks and coordination of athletic events
• Promotion of the Jesuit, Catholic, Interfaith identity of the school

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Event Management Director reports to the Athletic Director and is responsible for handling the day-to-day activities that take place within the department.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
(Note: The following list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Others may be assigned, subject to reasonable accommodations.)

1. Serve as on-site manager for all athletic events assigned by the Athletic Director.

2. Attend all meetings required by the Athletic Director, and relate pertinent information to Athletic Director.

3. Record all interscholastic athletic schedules in consultation with Athletic Director and Associate Athletic Director.

4. Inform Athletic Director and Associate Athletic Director of all potentially controversial issues relating to athletics.

5. Schedule workers for all home athletic events.

6. Contact security and law enforcement agents for appropriate athletic events.

7. Coordinate athletic transportation when using school buses or mini-buses.

8. Work in conjunction with the Athletic Director to arrange regularly scheduled coaching staff meetings.

9. Submit contracts to and confirm IHSAA licensed officials for athletic events.

10. Coordinate facility usage with Asst. Principal for Student Life and Community Relations.

11. Manage athletic concession operation and coordinate with groups that use concessions activities as fundraising events.

12. Work in conjunction with the Athletic Director to monitor student-athlete IHSAA compliance and submitting of tournament entries.


CREDENTIALS

• REQUIRED
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft 2007 and Athletic Scheduling Systems
• Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the IHSAA
• Understanding of fundraising, marketing, and public relations

• PREFERRED
• 2-3 years of professional responsibility within the athletic field
• Experience in coaching and teaching
