Baseball
The JV baseball team won the 2008 Brebeuf Jesuit JV Invitational by defeating Plainfield and New Palestine. Tommy Green led the way for the Braves against the Quakers by pitching a complete game shutout, and Cody McFarland pitched 6 strong innings against the Dragons.
The Freshman baseball team will host Cathedral tonight at 6:00.
Boys Lacrosse
The Braves faced off against the #1 team in the state, Culver, and lost 10 – 2. Jake Nice scored a goal from a Seth Hollingsworth assist, and Kevin Perk scored the second goal from an assist by Jake Nice.
Girls Lacrosse
The girls lacrosse team was defeated by Park Tudor 11-1 on Sat during regional play
Tennis
The girls Varsity tennis team will travel to Park Tudor to face the Panthers in the finals of the Marion County Tournament. The match will begin at 4:30.
Softball
The Varsity beat Heritage Christian last Friday, 6 – 0. The Braves collected 11 hits with Ellen Shapiro going 4 for 4 and Carley Anderson going 2 for 3 with RBI’s.
The Braves also defeated Westfield on Saturday, 5 – 0. Ashley pitched a no hitter with 11 strikeouts. Becky Ilnicki got the offense started with a 3rd inning lead off double. Ashley went 2 for 4, with 3 RBI’s. The varsity record is now 15 – 5.
The varsity will host Ritter on Wednesday and the JV travels to Warren Central this afternoon.
