Required English Department Summer Reading

Every student is expected to complete the summer assignment linked below that corresponds with their upcoming class selection.

Students may either purchase the book (new or used) or borrow from the public library; however, all students should come to English class on the first day of school with their required reading text and annotations.   All teachers will be assessing students within the first few days of class over their reading. Assessments may include, but are not limited to, essays, objective tests, written analyses, etc.

Questions?  Contact Sarah O’Keefe (department chair) at sokeefe@brebeuf.org.

Band and Orchestra

Optional Band and Orchestra Summer Homework Practice

All band and orchestra students are encouraged to practice throughout the summer and familiarize themselves with the music, part assignments, and recordings in preparation for the beginning of the year. This is not required summer homework, but by practicing and reviewing this music, it will help everyone to hit the ground running in the fall. Mr. Lee will be providing hard copies of all materials on the first day of class, so you do not need to print any of the provided resources.

Click here for the Optional Band and Orchestra Summer Homework, which includes a folder of information by class. Additionally, you may review the included 2021-2022 Band and Orchestra Handbook.

If you have any further questions, please contact Brandon Lee, Director of Bands and Orchestras, at blee@brebeuf.org.
