The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is the standardized test used in the admission process by all of the Catholic high schools in Indianapolis.
Students must complete the High School Placement Test (HSPT) during the summer before or in their 8th grade year in order to be considered for admission to Brebeuf Jesuit.
Qualifying for Regular Admission
Prospective students must receive a composite score of 60 or above, or a score of 100 or better on the CSQ section of the test.
Early Admission is offered by Brebeuf Jesuit to current 8th grade students who apply by October 1. Students interested in Early Admission should take the HSPT test in June, July or at Brebeuf Jesuit on September 28. Students testing in October, who are interested in Early Admission, need to have all their admissions materials submitted by the October 1 deadline. Admission decisions will be sent out by the Thanksgiving holiday.
Please note: If you have taken the HSPT at another institution, please request your scores to be sent to Brebeuf Jesuit at email@example.com.
In addition to the HSPT, Brebeuf Jesuit requires the submission of transcripts, standardized test scores, parent and student essays, and teacher letters of recommendation.

Testing Day Logistics
Parents may park in the visitor’s parking lot and enter the Main Entrance, Door 1, to check in. Testers may check in at 8:45 a.m., and they will take the test from 9:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Extended-time testers will finish by 1:30 p.m. Students who qualify for testing accommodations should provide accommodation documentation two weeks before the test.
Students are encouraged to bring a snack and a drink, #2 pencils, and a sweatshirt. Calculators are not permitted, and electronics will be submitted to proctors prior to the start of the test.
Parents are invited to join Admissions staff from 9:00-9:30 a.m. for a Meet and Greet session on the morning of the HSPT.
When testers are finished, parents may pick them up outside of Door 1.
HSPT results will be mailed directly to parents two weeks after the exam.
