Announcement From the Office of College Counseling

A note from Brebeuf Jesuit Principal Greg VanSlambrook

I am thrilled to announce that Carroll Easterday will be joining Brebeuf Jesuit as the new Director of College Counseling this summer. I have personally known and respected Carroll’s work in the field of college counseling in the Indianapolis area for years, and she will bring a wealth of leadership experience and skills to this key role for our students and families, as well as a great heart for the mission and values of Brebeuf Jesuit.

Carroll currently serves as Coordinator for College and Career Readiness Counseling at North Central High School, where earlier in her career she had previously developed the first developmental college counseling program in an Indiana public high school. Carroll also previously served as Director of College and Career Readiness for Westfield Washington Schools, where she led the development of a college and career counseling structure throughout the school district. Additionally, she developed and instructed a new course for grade 8 students, “College, Careers and Readiness for Success” at Westfield Middle School.

Carroll also brings experience on the college side, as Assistant to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions for Butler University, and as Associate Director of Admission at Whitman College (WA). She also worked for the Midwest Office of the College Board, where she led support to K-12 schools throughout Indiana for professional development, equity and access in College Board programs such as AP, SAT, and PSAT. Carroll has served on several college admission advisory councils, scholarship review boards, application development boards and school counseling subcommittees for the Indiana Department of Education.

Carroll is a licensed school counselor and received her MS in School counseling from Butler University. In recent years she also completed course work at Butler University on a pathway for Indiana state licensure in Mental Health Counseling to better assist in meeting the needs of the whole child. Additionally, Carroll instructs the required graduate course, “Post-Secondary Counseling Workshop” in the Counselor Education program at Butler University.

I am excited for the possibilities as Carroll guides our excellent College Counseling Department to its next phases in even better and better service to our students and families. We are again thankful to Dr. Jim Fadely as he completes his service to Brebeuf Jesuit on June 30. Carroll will work with the department in the summer transition period and will begin in the position full-time on August 1. Welcome, Carroll!
