Brebeuf Students Heading to Iceland
Brebeuf students Sai Chalasani ‘19, Reed Rouch ‘19, and Maggie Molander ‘19 will be attending the Global Leadership Conference on the Science of Sustainability in Northern Iceland and will be traveling, Friday, March 18 – Sunday, March 27.
These students will be meeting with advocates of energy such as William Kamkwamba, author of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, Steven Chu, former Secretary of Energy in the White House, Ann Makosinski, a Google Science Fair winner and inventor, Jessica O. Matthews, an inventor and entrepreneur, and the Our Children’s Trust non-profit group.
All three students have submitted projects as part of the conference. Maggie was selected as an intern and will speak in front of people from all over the U.S and Iceland. The students will also be visiting geysers, waterfalls, hot springs, and see the northern lights, all while spreading awareness for unsafe climate change in the world today.
