#BrebeufDrives and Help for the Holidays Needs You
#BrebeufDrives begins this month!
Brebeuf Jesuit is renewing our community-wide effort, #BrebeufDrives, a program centered around uniting Brebeuf in giving and modeling service for the vulnerable and underserved populations of Indianapolis. These drives provide a great opportunity for our school community to actively be men and women for others.
As part of #BrebeufDrives, we are excited to launch our Help for the Holidays campaign. We will be collecting toys for the Christmas Store at the Catholic Charities Crisis Office. The Crisis Office serves vulnerable populations unable to provide basic necessities (shelter, food and clothing), targeting low-income (or no income) persons who need short-term assistance to maintain needs not being met by government programs.
This is the third year Brebeuf is supporting this wonderful program that provides an opportunity for families and individuals to shop for Christmas/Holiday gifts that they otherwise could not afford.
Volunteering for “Help for the Holidays” is a wonderful way to show our children and students that the entire Brebeuf community comes together to serve those who are less fortunate. This is a great way to see our students in action and it promises to be a lot of fun!
We hope you will sign up here to be a “Help for the Holidays” Homeroom Coordinator. Each homeroom will be collecting items over a four-week period for the Christmas Store. As a Homeroom Coordinator, your responsibilities will include visiting your assigned homeroom on Thursday, October 26, Thursday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 28 from 9:50 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. each visit.
Volunteers will introduce the Help for the Holidays drive, coordinate a signup for the students to bring in items, and once the items are collected, deliver them to the Chapel.
An information packet which will include talking points, students’ names and a sign up sheet may be picked up on Thursday, October 26 at 9:45 a.m. in the lobby, or before, by contacting Nick Klingler.
