Help Needed! AP Exam Proctors:
The College Counseling Office is looking for any parent who is interested in helping proctor AP exams this Spring. Individuals must already be approved through Safe & Sacred. If interested, please contact Kelly Shank at firstname.lastname@example.org.
College Board Accommodations for 2019 AP Exams (May 6-10 & May 13-17)
Attention students taking AP classes/exams this year!
If you would like to receive accommodations, such as extended time, on your AP exams this year, please know that the deadline for submitting requests for testing accommodations is Feb. 22, 2019. To ensure the process of applying, and getting approved, is completed in a timely fashion, please contact your Academic Counselor ASAP.
***Note – it is important to understand that receiving accommodations at Brebeuf does not ensure that the College Board will approve accommodations for AP exams.

Scholarships and Financial Aid Announcements
- CICF (Central Indiana Community Foundation) general scholarship application opened on November 12. Many scholarships are available, with one central application – due by Feb. 5. Please see www.cicf.org/scholarships for details and a link to the 38 page CICF scholarship guidebook.
- Many scholarships can be searched through your Naviance page. Go to Colleges tab, drop down to Scholarships and Money, and select the Scholarships List. From here you can sort by application/nomination deadline or filter for type of scholarship (area of study, community service, need-based, minority/diversity, overcoming adversity, etc). You can also just scroll through the whole list, which is growing every day.
- Continue to seek scholarship opportunities at all colleges to which you’ve applied. Many schools have additional essays, nominations, and deadlines for merit scholarships – see the school’s Admission/Financial Aid website, or do a Google Search of the school’s name and “Scholarships.”
Inclusion and Diversity Announcements
The Center for Leadership Development (CLD) offers generous CLD Partner College Scholarships to CLD Emerging Scholars. To learn how to become a CLD Emerging Scholar and more about CLD Partner College Scholarships, please plan to attend a presentation by Mr. John Turner, CLD College Success Coordinator, on Tuesday, December 11 during PRT O from 9:15 am – 9:55 am in the France Stone Room. Students in grades 9-11 and their parents are welcome to attend.
Project Uplift at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a summer enrichment and college access program designed to promote and increase access to higher education for all outstanding students, especially those underrepresented in postsecondary education. Every year, during May and June, approximately 1,000 high school seniors participate in one of four separate Project Uplift sessions. During this two-day experience, Project Uplift participants live on Carolina’s campus, interacting with faculty, staff and current students, participating in educational, cultural and social activities. The Champion Project is offering a spring college tour to 5 Ivy League colleges including the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Columbia University, Yale University, and Harvard University. The tour is scheduled for March 31 – April 4, 2019. Cost is $650 and fundraising is available. To learn more, go to www.champion-project.com.
