Brebeuf Jesuit has 6 National Merit Semifinalists and 13 National Merit Commended Students!

Congratulations to Josh Denney, Jack Johnson, William Marxer, Emily McDonnell, Lea Morical and Ashlyn Morris on being named National Merit Semifinalists!

Congratulations to Adam Ali, Lila Ammeen, Nick Broderick, Tom Caffrey, Claire Eggleton, Nick Enright, Matthew Gerdisch, Jack Guyer, Jacquelyn Knobelsdorf, Lydia Laramore, Emma Mazurek, Brendan Murphy, and Grace Williams on being named National Merit Commended Students!

About 1.6 million seniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state.

Furthermore, about 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation have been recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

The young men and women have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success. These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their teachers play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence here at Brebeuf Jesuit. We hope this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.
