Meet Our Jesuits

Fr. John (Jack) Dennis, S.J.

Fr. Jack Dennis S.J. is the President of Brebeuf Jesuit. He entered the Jesuits in 1976 and was ordained to the priesthood on June 14, 1986. Born and raised in Baltimore, Fr. Jack is a member of the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus.  Although his position in the school is mainly administrative, Fr. Jack’s priority is to be a ‘pastoral presence’ to everyone in the Brebeuf Jesuit community, most especially his students and their families.

Fr. G. Paul Peterson, S.J.

Fr. Paul joined the Society of Jesus in 1948 and was ordained June 11, 1961. He spends much of his time ministering to Brebeuf families. Fr. Paul gets to know the families at sporting events which he attends regularly. If you don’t run into him in the halls, it may be because he is in one of the music rooms practicing the violin or in the Wellness Center keeping fit. It may also be because he is off campus attending memorial services for members of the Brebeuf community, current and past.

Fr. George Menke, S.J.

Fr. George, known to most as “Padre,” wears many hats. He entered the Jesuits in 1960, was ordained on June 7, 1975, and spent many years teaching Spanish. He came to Brebeuf Jesuit in 1997 and still enjoys tutoring Spanish when not on retreats, working on school databases, or driving school buses to athletic events. He has also taught Social Justice and has been a frequent participant of service trips. Currently, he handles the incoming and outgoing mail at Brebeuf.

Fr. Tom Widner, S.J., and Fr. Jeremiah Lynch, S.J.

These two Jesuits are members of the Brebeuf Jesuit community, but you will not often see them around campus as their work is elsewhere. Fr. Tom Widner is the spiritual director of the diocesan seminarians at Bishop Simon Brute seminary near Marian University. Fr. Jeremiah Lynch is the parochial vicar for St. Patrick Church and works with the Hispanic communities in Indianapolis.

Mr. Robert (Bobby) Karle, S.J.

Mr. Karle, a first-year Regent, teaches religion and coaches hockey.  He enjoys biking, practicing and teaching yoga, and speaking Spanish.
