Ignatian Scholars Spring Speaker Series – Women in Medicine – February 10

The Brebeuf Jesuit Ignatian Scholars Spring Speaker Series kicks off this Friday with a “Women in Medicine” Career Panel.

Jill Mazurek, MD

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Dr. Mazurek is from Bloomington, IN and is a magna cum laude graduate from Vanderbilt University. She earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1991.  She completed her pediatric residency and was chief resident at The Children’s Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University. She is board certified in pediatrics and is in private practice at Meridian Pediatrics. She is the mother of three children. 

Anita Joshi, MD

Anita Joshi MD has been an Indiana resident since 1998.  She was born and raised in New Jersey and attended Trinity College in Hartford, CT where she earned her Bachelors in Science. She then attended the University of Connecticut Medical School; where she met her husband Arun Jain of 23 years.   She completed her residency in pediatrics at CT Children’s Medical Center and moved to Indiana where she began her private practice.  Dr. Joshi currently practices general pediatrics in Crawfordsville IN.  Outside of her medical practice she has served on numerous boards and has two children, Nina who is a freshman and Nikhil who is a senior at Brebeuf Jesuit. 

Jennifer Satterfield-Siegel, DDS


Dr. Satterfield-Siegel did her undergrad at Spelman College, received a doctorate of dental surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and earned a certificate in pediatric dentistry from Case Western Reserve University. At the beginning of her professional career, Satterfield-Siegel was a faculty member at the Cerebral Palsy Clinic at Riley Hospital for Children. At Special Smiles Pediatric Dentistry in Carmel, Dr. Satterfield-Siegel provides a dental home for children who need patience, love and understanding, and she takes the time to get to know them individually. As a pediatric dentist, her biggest goal is prevention. She educates children and parents about safety and the importance of proper nutrition, oral habits and regular dental checkups. Special Smiles also provides operative care, cosmetic care and emergency treatment.
