Ignatian Teach-In for Justice and Crosses on Brebeuf’s Front Lawn
As families drive onto the Brebeuf Jesuit campus November 15-18, they will notice memorial crosses on the lawn representing the Jesuit martyrs who died fighting political oppression during the Salvadoran Civil War. These Jesuits were faculty members and administrators at the University of Central America when they were martyred on November 16, 1989.
For the sixteenth year, Brebeuf sent a group of students and educators to participate in the annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in Washington, D.C. Participants heard powerful keynote speakers, attended breakout sessions about a variety of societal issues, and prepared for
their visits with legislators on Capitol Hill.
Additionally, Brebeuf community members joined together for a special prayer service in the Brebeuf Jesuit Chapel with our students and faculty Ignatian Teach-In representatives this afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
