Student Spotlight – Brendan Murphy
Loves About Brebeuf
What I love about Brebeuf is the amount of time that we are given outside of class to manage ourselves and our homework. I enjoy the freedom of being able to have two breaks. This allows me to have more options in taking the more difficult math and science courses that I enjoy, such as Vector Calculus or AP Physics C.
I would have to say my favorite class would be Calculus BC with Mr. Kelaghan. I’ve learned so much more about calculus, and it has been a really calming and fun class. I really like the way Mr. Kelaghan teaches and the way he explains calculus so well.
I have not decided on which university I want to attend next year, but I would like to study mechanical engineering at either Purdue, Princeton, or Cornell. After college, I’m not quite sure what career I want to pursue, but I do know I want to go into some form of engineering.

What has been your favorite Brebeuf experience or most memorable moment so far?
I think my most memorable moment was going to Europe with Mr. Hoernemann and a small ensemble from the school band. We toured Switzerland, Italy, and France. I got to go bike riding in the Swiss Alps with my friends, go swimming in the Cinque Terre, and tour around Milan, among other things. It was one of the most memorable trips I have taken in my lifetime, and I was so thankful for the ability to be able to go with my friends and my family, and learn so much about the people over there.
