Student Spotlight – Jordan Smith ’18

Loves About Brebeuf

I love our schedule, senior privileges, the picnic tables outside, and all the different clubs and programs you can be involved in.

Class You Are Most Looking Forward to This Year

The classes I am most excited to take this year are AP Biology and Science and Religion. I really enjoyed biology my freshman year and I am excited to go more in depth on topics such as heredity and the human genome. I’m also excited to have a chance to view my faith from more of a scientific perspective and to explore how the two ideas work together in science in religion.

Future Plans

I hope to attend either Northwestern or William and Mary and double major in psychology and some type of English study. From there, I would like to become a lawyer, but I also would like to be involved with school systems through Teach for America, or a program of that sort.

I’m a lefty.
I love to read.
I went on the Barcelona exchange trip during Spring Break 2017.
I love kids, so if you’re ever in need of a babysitter, I’m the one for the job!

What are you most looking forward to during this school year?

This year I’m most excited about attending the Kairos retreat, hopefully leading a retreat, and participating in my last high school soccer season.

What is your current favorite show or series on tv, Netflix, etc.?

I have two favorites right now! New Girl and Reina del Sur. I started watching Reina del sur (a telenovela) to help me improve my Spanish, but now I’m hooked.

What advice would you offer our newest Braves in the Class of 2021?

Don’t be afraid to ask your teachers for help! They’re willing to do whatever it takes to help you with the material as long as you show them you’re willing to work. Some of my favorite teachers have been from the math department, even though math is far from my favorite subject.
