Prom 2019 Information

Prom 2019, Hollywood, will be held Saturday, April 13, at The Fountain Square Theatre (1111 Prospect St, Indianapolis, IN 46203) from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. “Prom After Dark” will be a special extension this year, sponsored by the Mothers Association, and will begin around 10:30 p.m. to end the evening. This year, dinner will not be served at Prom. Limited quantities of appetizers and desserts will be available at the beginning of the event.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • The doors to Fountain Square Ballroom will open at 7:30 p.m.
  • Students must arrive by 8:00 p.m. to be admitted to Prom.
  • Students and guests must have a valid student ID to be admitted. Students are allowed to leave Prom at any time, but will not be readmitted once they leave.
  • Parking in Fountain Square can be a challenge; students should plan to arrive early to navigate this. There is a free lot at the corner of Shelby and Morris and street parking is also free but can fill up quickly.

The Class of 2020 has put much time and effort into planning this very special celebration. It is critical for us to join together to reinforce the idea with our students that there is no need to abuse alcohol or drugs to have a good time on Prom night. Chaperones at Prom will report any students found using drugs or alcohol. Prom is an official school-sponsored event, school rules will be in effect and disciplinary actions will be taken.

A meeting with all students attending the Prom will be held Tuesday, April 9 during the 12:50 p.m. PRT to discuss our expectations and any logistics students need to know. We will also hear from Chris Sandy, who is a part of the Choices Matter initiative.  This program shares personal stories with students on the danger and impact of underage drinking.

Parents, please share the contents of this letter with your student and have a conversation specifically establishing your expectations and their responsibilities. We also request that Brebeuf Jesuit parents neither plan nor permit parties that compete with this special event. We join you in looking forward to seeing our upperclassmen spruced up and enjoying the event. Many thanks as we work together to keep those we love safe and happy on this special night.

Should parents have any questions regarding the evening, please call Dean Adams at 317.524.7157.
