Student Spotlight – Cam Farren ’18
Loves About Brebeuf
I love the community here at Brebeuf. Everyone here truly cares for one another and want to see you succeed. As a senior, I think it is really convenient how all the seniors’ lockers are on the same floor because it allows all of us to connect as a grade. I also love the freedom Brebeuf students get. PRTs are a great time for me to meet with a teacher or just catch up with my friends.
My favorite class this year is Intro to Entrepreneurship with Mr. VanSlambrook. The class is very interesting and I have a lot of friends in that class with me. My favorite class of all time would have to be my U.S. History class with Mr. Mayer during my sophomore year. I love studying history because of how interesting I find it and Mr. Mayer made the class very enjoyable.
I plan on attending Denison University to study Economics and continue playing baseball. I also might minor in history as well.
Teams & Co-Curriculars
Brebeuf Varsity Baseball
I am the youngest of five children. I have two older brothers in college, a sister who lives in Rhode Island, and another sister who lives in Michigan.
I love watching movies, especially 80’s films like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Back to the Future.
What is your current favorite show or series on tv, Netflix, etc?
My favorite show on Netflix would have to be How I Met Your Mother because of interesting the concept of the show is. I also love it because there are episodes that make you laugh out loud while others make you cry.
If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go and why?
There are so many places to choose from, but I would love to visit Santorini, Greece because of how beautiful the architecture and scenery looks. Touring the Eiffel Tower and the streets of Paris would also be amazing, and I would love to visit Florence, Italy again.
What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
My family is having everyone from my mom’s side over to my house to have Thanksgiving dinner together. I am excited because all of my siblings are coming and I don’t see them often.
What advice would you offer our Braves in the Class of 2021?
Don’t blink. I know it does not seem like it, but your senior year will be here before you know it. Your time here at Brebeuf is limited, so make the most out of it by connecting with everyone. Reach out to teachers when you need help and find friends that bring out the best in you. Lastly, do not fall behind! Freshman year grades matter!
