The Brebeuf Food Drive is Here!
Brebeuf Jesuit is once again holding a food drive during Lent, February 26 – April 9, 2020.
For years, our students, faculty, staff, and families have participated in this meaningful drive supporting St. Vincent de Paul’s food pantry. In addition, cash donations from our school community are able to buy tens of thousands of pounds of food each year.
Period 1 classrooms at Brebeuf will hold collections to once again compete for for donut party, cookie party, and a pizza party lunch! To maximize our school’s impact, this year’s goal is for every student and staff member to collect 10 cans each.
St. Vincent de Paul feeds roughly 3,300 families every week, or roughly 12,000 individuals, many of whom are children and the elderly. Every can is helpful!
How to Help
To contribute to the drive, send food items to Brebeuf Jesuit with a Brebeuf student, who will deliver the items to their period 1 collection. To contribute monetarily (Make checks out to: St. Vincent de Paul, memo: Food Pantry), and bring donations of support to the Main Lobby Desk at Brebeuf Jesuit. A list of current items the food pantry needs is below;
- Canned meat or fish*
- Stews and soups (no tomato)
- Peanut butter*
- Mac and cheese
- Canned fruit
- Box dinners/mixes
- Paper products
- (No ramen noodles needed)
- Monetary donations – This money allows St. Vincent de Paul to purchase needed items at at a negotiated cost.
By coming together during this food drive, the entire Brebeuf Jesuit community can make an incredible difference in the lives of thousands in need here in Indianapolis.
